MetroPool Appoints Peggy Hetherington as Vice President of Business Development
White Plains, NY (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- MetroPool, a leader in the development, implementation and promotion of transportation programs and mobility solutions for companies, public agencies, communities and commuters for more than thirty years, announced today the appointment of Peggy Hetherington as Vice President of Business Development. The formal announcement was made at the company’s annual meeting held at UBS headquarters in Stamford on June 11. Ms. Hetherington was selected for the position following a competitive search that was conducted by MetroPool this spring.
Hetherington most recently served as Vice President, Senior Sustainability Manager for the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) where she designed and implemented sustainability programs for RBS and RBS Citizens properties, including commuter transportation. Her distinguished career includes seventeen years in a previous senior management position with MetroPool, from 1988-2005.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Peggy back as a key contributor and member of our senior management team,” said John Lyons, CEO of MetroPool. “It’s terrific to secure a qualified and experienced individual with background in both transportation and sustainability. Her addition will allow MetroPool to provide a broader range of services to the commuters, employers and communities that we serve.”
Hetherington will assume the lead role in creating new business opportunities and strategic relationships across MetroPool’s diverse set of stakeholders. “My engagement with MetroPool couldn’t happen at a better time,” offered Ms. Hetherington, who has also served on MetroPool’s board of directors. “MetroPool has effectively delivered mobility solutions in the region for more than thirty years, and its sustainable transportation services are even more relevant and critical today. I am excited to be a part of the company in this new capacity,” she added.
MetroPool, which has developed a suite of transportation services that will assist customers in achieving transportation points for Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) certification, will also be leveraging Ms. Hetherington’s LEED Accredited Professional certification. “Peggy’s background and passion for our industry could not be better aligned with what we need to maximize our investment in our strategic plan,” said Paul Scribano, Vice President of Finance at Mindspark Interactive Network, Inc., an IAC Company, and Board Chairperson of MetroPool.
