The International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC) Holds Successful Cancer Nursing Education Programs in Latin America
Vancouver, Canada (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- ISNCC welcomed over 50 cancer nursing leaders from Latin America at the ISNCC Oral Therapy Educational Workshop, held May 10, 2014 at Hilton Bogota Hotel, Colombia. The goal of the workshop was to educate selected cancer nursing leaders from Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and Panama on toxicity and side effect management associated with oral chemotherapies. The workshop was exciting, engaging and provided a platform for further learning for cancer nurses in Latin America. Online version of this project will be launched at the 18th International Conference on Cancer Nursing (ICCN), September 7-11, 2014 in Panama City.
The meetings in Bogota, Colombia also included a meeting of the ISNCC and Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) Collaborative on Cervical Screening Working Group on May 11, 2014. This Working Group brought together various cancer nursing practitioners, educators and administrators who have experience in cervical screening, with the purpose of identifying existing resources, materials and strategies developed in other areas to support developing work in Latin America. The project will be launched via focus group at the 18th ICCN, September 7-11, 2014 in Panama City.
ISNCC looks forward to continued success in Latin America during the 18th ICCN – to be held at the Hilton Panama Hotel, from September 7 - 11th, 2014, in the beautiful city of Panama City, Panama. The theme of the 18th ICCN will be: ‘Strengthening Leadership, Unity and Compassion in Cancer Care.’
