Inmar Reaches 100 Million Digital Coupons Processed
Winston-Salem, NC (PRWEB) June 18, 2014 -- Inmar, a company that operates intelligent commerce networks, today announced that it surpassed the 100 million digital coupon redemption milestone through the Inmar Promotion Network. Now in its fifth year of digital coupon management, Inmar processes one digital coupon every .6 seconds -- making it the industry leader and the place for retailers and manufacturers to go for digital couponing.
Setting it apart from others in the industry, Inmar operates an open network to create the best outcomes for shoppers and does this by aggregating offer content from many sources. This is important because it makes more coupons more accessible to more shoppers while supporting publisher efforts to source these offers.
Digital coupons are loaded by consumers directly to shopper loyalty accounts from retailer and various brand and publisher websites. With no paper involved, these offers are applied automatically at checkout and discounts are credited instantly when shoppers present their loyalty card or other individual identifier. This simplified acquisition allows shoppers to get more relevant offers, saving them time and money.
Digital coupon popularity is increasing in a mobile-enabled marketplace. Inmar reported that during Q1 2014, redemption for digital coupons grew 53 percent compared with Q1 2013. In 2013, more than 66 million digital coupons were redeemed industry-wide according to Inmar estimates – a 141 percent increase over 2012. Inmar alone facilitated the redemption of almost 44 million digital coupons in 2013, giving it the largest share of digital coupon redemption information in the industry.
With more than 17,000 digitally enabled retail rooftops in the Inmar Promotion Network, manufacturers are leveraging Inmar’s extensive offer aggregation and distribution infrastructure to reach millions of shoppers with thousands of offers. Currently, offers available through Inmar represent an investment by brands in shopper marketing of more than $150 million.
“This is a very exciting milestone for the Inmar Promotion Network and an important indicator for the industry,” says Inmar Chairman and CEO David Mounts. “Our research shows shoppers are ramping up their use of technology to save money and try new products. It’s also a time when marketers need to know whom they can rely on to run open networks that are good for shoppers, retailers and brands. Now that we are able to target delivery of relevant content to shoppers the popularity of digital coupons is only going to grow,” adds Mounts.
According to the Inmar 2014 Shopper Behavior Survey, 55 percent of shoppers digitally "clip" coupons. While the majority of shoppers (66%) perceive that retailers and brands are trying to reach them with relevant content, there is growing demand for more targeted and personalized digital engagement, as 70 percent want coupons emailed to them for products they normally buy.
