'I’ve known many people in my life, and there is not a better human being on the planet than Lt. Col. Marx,' says Global Tour Golf President Craig Pollard. 'He is a longtime friend whom I’ve admired for years and I’m now proud to call him a colleague.'

Charleston, South Carolina (PRWEB) June 19, 2014

For the past 20 years Lieutenant Colonel Aaron Marx has proudly served our country as a United States Marine, a career which included deployments to Iraq, Japan, and Marine Expeditionary Unit deployments all around the globe. He amassed multiple combat medals piloting the AH-1W Super Cobra attack helicopter. After two decades of dedicated service, on July 1st, 2014 Marx retires from the Marine Corps and will relocate to Charleston to launch the East Coast distribution center for Global Tour Golf.

“I’ve known many people in my life, and there is not a better human being on the planet than Lt. Col. Marx,” says Global Tour Golf President Craig Pollard. “He is a longtime friend whom I’ve admired for years and I’m now proud to call him a colleague.”

Through the most recent years of his military career, Marx attended War College at the prestigious Eisenhower School of National Security Studies and Resource Management, earning his Master’s Degree in Resource Strategy with a focus on Supply Chain Management. During 2013-2014 Marx served as the exclusive Marine Corps representative to Washington, D.C.’s elite think tank, the Brookings Institution. The son of former NFL player (Atlanta Falcons) and Notre Dame All-American Greg Marx, Aaron was born and raised in Indiana and played football for DePauw University, where he discovered his desire to become a USMC officer.

Trading combat boots for golf cleats affords Marx more time with wife of 19 years, Krisy, and their two children, Andrew (13) and Audrey (11). It also fulfills his desire to one day run a company, as Marx will oversee all operational aspects of this new division, which will be known as GT Golf Supplies and based in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.

Assisting in the corporate launch is Brian Van De Veere, who relocates from GT Golf’s Southern California headquarters to oversee the East Coast sales team. Van De Veere, a former touring professional, has been with GT Golf for nine years managing sales and marketing for all customers east of the Mississippi.

“This is a natural fit for Brian,” says Pollard. “He’s looking forward to being a part of something new for GT Golf while also having the opportunity for him and his wife Theresa to raise their young daughter near family on the East Coast. We could not be more proud to have these two outstanding gentlemen running our East Coast distribution center.”

Established in 1995 and one of the largest suppliers in the nation, Global Tour Golf supplies more than 1,000 unique golf products to golf courses and shops nationwide. The company prides itself on providing attentive customer service, reducing the customer’s time spent on inventory management, and supplying highly profitable items for the pro shop. The company motto is “Don’t’ Sweat The Small Stuff, That’s Our Job”.

Marx and Van De Veere expect to be fully operational by July 1 and are excited to launch the east coast division known as GT Golf Supplies. They are actively seeking qualified individuals to fill roles in warehouse operations and customer service.
