(PRWEB) June 17, 2014
Attorney Virginia Landry, founder of The Law Offices of Virginia L. Landry in Orange County, will be instructing participants in a course on Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST) to detect drunk driving. The course, DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing, is approved by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (ICAP) and will be held from June 20, 2014 through June 22, 2014.
Attorney Ronald L. Moore of the firm will also be instructing this course. Mr. Moore was formerly a Senior Forensic Scientist at the Orange County Crime Lab, supervising the Forensic Alcohol Unit, as well as working in Toxicology, Blood and Breath Alcohol, and Drug Analysis. He is also certified in the performance of SFSTs.
This extensive program will cover how to properly administer SFSTs. All law enforcement officials throughout the United States must abide by SFST guidelines. This training course equips participants to properly administer the SFSTs and interpret the results. Virginia Landry and Ronald Moore are both certified to instruct the DWI Detection and Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Student Course.
Sobriety testing is an extremely important component of drunk driving cases. DUI arrests and charges stand or fall on the evidence, and if the evidence was obtained improperly, then the charges could be dismissed or reduced.
As a DUI defense attorney who is also certified in SFST administration, Virginia Landry knows what to look for when defending her clients. She often looks at police procedure and how the evidence was obtained to see if it meets SFST standards.
