Peugeot's Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 Stand Set to Thrill and Excite
(PRWEB UK) 19 June 2014 -- Peugeot has revealed its line-up for the upcoming 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The manufacturer’s stand will play host a selection of static and dynamic attractions, demonstrations and exhibitions throughout the festival (26th-29th June).
The manufacturer’s main spectacle at the Goodwood Festival will see Sébastien Loeb attempt the Goodwood Hillclimb in the Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak car. The nine-time winner of the World Rally Championship (WRC) will reacquaint himself with the car he drove to the Pikes Peak record, as he takes on the thrilling 1.16-mile course.
Most of Peugeot’s activity will take place at its stand. It will feature a selection of the manufacturer’s latest production models and concept cars, work from the Peugeot Design Labs and its first Dakar Rally entry for a quarter of a century.
Visitors will be able to get a first glimpse of the Peugeot 2008 DKR as it makes its European debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Designed by Peugeot Sport, this purpose-built SUV buggy will take its place in the 2015 Dakar Rally – a 10,000 km cross-country rally, renowned as the world’s toughest.
Fresh from being crowned 2014 European Car of the Year, the New 308 will take its place at the stand, along with the sleek RCZ R – the fastest production car ever manufactured by Peugeot.
However, as well as being able to see them up close, attendees will be able to put both cars and the New 108 TOP! Cabrio to the test at The Moving Motor Show on 26th June. The Moving Motor Show will also mark the UK debut of the TOP! Cabrio, a funky city car with retractable fabric roof.
The Peugeot stand will also highlight the car manufacturer’s latest technology and innovations. Taking top billing, the Exalt Concept Car recently made its debut at the Beijing Motor Show. It features cutting-edge HYbrid4 technology in the form of the RCZ R’s powerful 270bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine and a 70bhp electric motor.
A sporty take on the 2014 European Car of the Year, the New 308, the 308 R Concept adds clean cut lines to an already stylish vehicle. Using the RCZ R’s engine, the 308 R Concept delivers an impressive combination of speed and style. It’ll be joined by the 208 HYbrid FE Concept – a hybrid hatchback that’s designed to provide a fun yet economical driving experience.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 will also see Peugeot offer excitement away from the track with Peugeot Gravity Drop. This spectacular ride takes thrill seekers 40 feet up into the air, giving them a spectacular panoramic view of the Estate before making a breath-taking descent back towards ground level.
Attendees can book advanced ride reservations by obtaining a pre-booked fast track pass. To find out more, visit: http://www.peugeotenjoytheride.co.uk/
