Welcomemat Services, a marketing strategies and technology company that connects new residents with local businesses, recently awarded Woodinville franchise owner Brad Bossio with the company’s coveted “Rookie of the Year” award. Bossio, who received the award at Welcomemat Services’ Annual Conference in Florida, ranked number one in sales and other key performance indicators among all new 2013 franchisees.

According to data released last month by the U.S. Census Bureau, the Seattle area achieved the highest rate of growth in 2013 than any other major U.S. city. With more residents moving into new communities in the area, the need for services that connect them with local businesses has increased. Welcomemat Services provides this connection by welcoming families with a package of gift certificates and invitations from local businesses within approximately 30 to 90 days of their move into a new home. A mobile rewards system also helps encourage repeat visitation and long-term loyalty.

“Through Welcomemat, I’ve been fortunate to grow my business at a consistent rate while also connecting with the community. Not only have I been able to help local businesses expand their customer base, my franchise has also been able to help families get acclimated to their new area,” said Bossio. “Through the Welcomemat package, new residents are introduced to great businesses that can serve their family’s various needs – from restaurants to automotive repair and more.”

Bossio, whose franchise serves the Eastside, including Woodinville, Redmond, Kirkland, Juanita, Bothell, Kenmore, Mill Creek, Monroe and Snohomish, recently expanded his business to include Bellevue, Sammamish and south to Maple Valley. Prior to starting with Welcomemat, Bossio served 17 years at Microsoft. Leveraging the sales and marketing experience he gained while at the company, Bossio opened his Welcomemat franchise in March 2013 with the goal to succeed as an entrepreneur and also help local businesses thrive.

“Local businesses are interested in what I do because they like the idea of being able to turn a new resident into a client as soon as they move into the community,” said Bossio. “They know that if they become a new family’s go-to business from the beginning, they will likely have a customer for life.”
