IEPs and 2 for 1 for Language Schools? The Victor Education Group Has a Novel Idea for ESL Training
Vancouver, BC (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- There are a plethora of ESL language schools in downtown Vancouver and international students have a lot of choice. However, one college is garnering a lot of attention. Victor College has a new six level ESL program that will help students to learn English and develop a career pathway at the same time by involving the student in the learning process.
“We know that offering ESL classes is not a new idea nor are small class sizes, individual attention etc- these are all things that every school purports. However, the one thing that really makes us unique is the individualized education plans (IEP) that we help a student to develop and work on- without goals or goal setting we believe that students are aimless. The individualized education plans keeps everyone including the teachers, staff and students focused,” says David Qu, CEO of the Victor Education Group.
The IEPs also serve another purpose that Victor College did not anticipate.
David believes that "The IEPs are really important because they help to engage not only the learner but the multiple stakeholders involved. When we pull out the IEP and start to work on it, we find that many times there is conflict between what the parents or guardian might want and what the students wants. These are great opportunities for discussions on multiple levels."
The IEPs work almost like a tool – bringing everything to the table. This process clears the air for a lot of students and helps to regroup their choices in life.
“This is a really different approach for a lot of students, and we would just like them to try it. So for a limited time, we would like interested students to come study with a friend for the same price as one student. We believe in trying new experiences and what better way to do this than with a trusted companion,“ states David.
As of June 1, 2014 the federal government has begun the long overdue process of restricting students to only education institutions who are approved by the government. Victor College is currently a designated learning institution #019274398652. Victor College was established in 2001 and continues to be dedicated to providing high quality education.
