Henley-Putnam University Presents Webinar on Counterterrorism: Main Players and Shifting Perspectives
Santa Clara, CA (PRWEB) June 20, 2014 -- Henley-Putnam Senior Military Advisor Mike Angley will present Counterterrorism: Main Players and Shifting Perspectives on June 24, 2014, at 1:00 PM, EDT.
In the webinar, Col. Angley will discuss the realm of counterterrorism (CT) and how the various players within it define their missions from their unique perspectives, roles and responsibilities.
He will also discuss the fusion that occurs between the federal government and state and local governments, as well as examine the two main political, legal and policy perspectives that have shaped the US approach to CT over the past several years. There has been significant push and pull between two camps, one that sees CT strictly as the province of war, warfare and its perpetrators as enemy combatants. In the other camp are proponents of a law enforcement approach who see terrorists as criminals in need of rights advisement and civilian justice. Finally, Col. Angley will discuss the special case of drone warfare and how it has been applied to the CT mission, along with the controversy surrounding drones and their usage.
