Bill Howe Plumbing Continues Support of American Heart Association at 2014 Heart Beach Ball
San DIego, CA (PRWEB) June 19, 2014 -- Bill Howe Plumbing started with local San Diego plumber, Bill Howe, in 1980. He began his company with the mission to provide low cost service to the local community while promoting his own “pay-it-forward” spirit. Since opening his doors, Bill Howe has steadily grown the company into a successful operation increasing services to include flood and restoration, heating and air conditioning in San Diego. His dedication to giving back to the community and caring for his customers is the driving force behind the company’s success.
One of the most prominent sponsorship opportunities the company has been part of is their team up with the American Heart Association. Starting in 2010, the San Diego plumber has provided an annual donation of $25,000 to the AHA, as well as hosting an annual drawing contest for children ages 5-12. “By offering our healthy hearts drawing contest to children throughout the community, we are able to reach out early on and promote healthy active lifestyles in conjunction with the AHA message and service,” said Bill Howe, President of Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc.
The contest, officially called “Howe” Healthy is Your Heart Drawing Contest, opens up to children throughout San Diego county ages 5-12. It launches on February 1 each year and goes through March. It asks children to draw their idea of a healthy heart and share all the ways they stay active and heart conscious. Bill Howe Plumbing, Inc. chooses five winners: the Grand Prize Winner receives a $250 gift card to Toys R Us, and four age category winners each receiving $100 gift cards. There is also a public “Facebook” vote open to Bill Howe’s fans and the winner also receives a $100 gift card to Toys R Us.
The culminating event of the Healthy Hearts drawing contest and the annual sponsorship is the AHA Heart Beach Ball held each June at the Hotel Del Coronado Hotel. The Grand Prize Winner and his or her family are invited to attend the only “no shoes required” beach gala, where the winning drawing is displayed. The Beach Ball also adds another opportunity for fundraising and on June 14, 2014, raised over $350,000 during the event.
