Memorial Day Weekend Honor Ride - New Albany - 2014

It was inspiring that so many gave their time to share in this remarkable opportunity. We all have our freedom because of the warfighter’s sacrifice.

Columbus, OH (PRWEB) June 20, 2014

Mission Essential hosted the First Annual Ohio Honor Ride during Memorial Day weekend to benefit Ride 2 Recovery, which improves the well-being of injured veterans through cycling. With more than 500 riders, the event raised $140,000 and generated considerable awareness, with coverage from local television affiliates in Ohio.

“We have been supportive of Ride 2 Recovery and its mission for a while now, and wanted to do something that would both help them and engage our community for Memorial Day,” said CEO Peter Horvath. “It was inspiring that so many gave their time to share in this remarkable opportunity. We all have our freedom because of the warfighter’s sacrifice. The funds and awareness raised through this event will make a significant positive impact on the lives of the brave men and women benefiting from Ride 2 Recovery.”

Mission Essential was founded by two veterans in 2004 and about 30 percent of its corporate associates are veterans. Supporting veterans groups has long been a hallmark of charitable giving at Mission Essential.
