Deadbolt Forensics Announces New JTAG Equipment, Services
(PRWEB) June 24, 2014 -- Deadbolt Forensics, a digital forensics company in Portland, Oregon, announces new JTAG equipment and services. Not all computer and mobile forensics companies offer JTAG services, since doing so requires examiners to have electronic skills and specialized training.
The JTAG (Joint Test Action Group) forensic process involves taking apart the phone and soldering wires directly to TAPs on the phone’s circuit board. After making a physical image of the phone’s data, the wires are removed, and the handset is reassembled.
JTAG forensics is used with mobile devices that are locked with an unknown password, devices that have USB debugging turned off, broken or damaged devices that cannot be accessed using traditional techniques, and with prepaid phones where the vendor has disabled the data port.
“We're excited to offer an affordable solution for smaller forensic firms that want to outsource this part of their workflow, as well as for the chance to continue offering cutting edge forensic techniques to our existing customers,” says senior forensic analyst Michael Yasumoto.
Now that Deadbolt Forensics supports JTAG, they are offering to provide a physical image of supported phones for a flat fee of $500 per device. To see the list of supported phones, please visit this link (Excel file): https://www.deadboltforensics.com/deadbolt_jtag.xlsx. If JTAG imaging cannot be successfully performed, Deadbolt Forensics will waive all charges except the cost of shipping.
For law enforcement needing an immediate JTAG image, Deadbolt Forensics offers expedited services, as well as a discounted hourly rate.
