In today’s easy guitar lesson Jon demonstrates some Eric Johnson style triads that incorporate the technique of hybrid picking, which is picking the lower note with the guitar pick and picking the higher notes with your fingers, a technique used widely by country guitarists and is a big part of how Eric Johnson articulates chords. In this lesson MacLennan demonstrates examples in the key of C climbing the major scale. The first example consists of the 3rd fret of the 5th string with first finger, 4th fret of the 4th string with 3rd finger and 5th fret of the 3rd string with 4th finger, which is the shape for major triad. Next is the minor triad which consists of 5th fret of the 5th string with first finger, 5th fret of the 4th string with 2nd finger and 6th fret of the 3rd string with 3rd finger. MacLennan continues by moving these shapes up the C major scale. Guitar TAB’s are available for this easy guitar lesson at GuitarControl.com.
