New York, NY (PRWEB) June 24, 2014
NetCom Learning, the experts in business and technology training solutions, recently held an intensive bootcamp for students interested in preparing for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam. CompTIA's Security+ certification prepares students for work in the field of information technology security which is one of the fastest growing fields in technology. Security+ covers disaster recovery, network security, compliance and identity management. All of the students who attended the NetCom Learning bootcamp in Security+ training which was held at the NetCom Washington DC area training facility were able to take the exam directly following the coursework and pass on the first try. This level of student success is becoming the norm for NetCom Learning students.
The recent bootcamp training was one of the first training sessions in which the new coursework approved by CompTIA was used as CompTIA recently revised the SY0-40 Security+ certification exam. Changes to the exam included a focus on risks with systems integration with third parties, an expansion of common protocols, mobile security and BYOD, scenario based authentication and access control. NetCom Learning's Security+ bootcamp runs for four days including forty hours of intensive training. The new certification exam has a maximum of 90 questions and includes both multiple choice and performance based questions. A passing score is 750. CompTIA recommends that those taking the exam have a minimum of two years experience in IT administration with some familiarity with IT security, however no prerequisite is required.
“As always we are pleased when students who take our coursework are able to pass certification exams immediately following their training,” said Russell Sarder, CEO of NetCom Learning.
“These students who just passed the CompTIA's new Security+ exam can put their knowledge to work immediately in their current jobs or to help them find a new job in the burgeoning field of IT security,” said Sarder.
