Putnam Fuel Pays it Forward for Safety Oriented Salvation Army Outreach

Putnam Fuel honors donation pledge to area family charity for every service plan purchased during first quarter.

In early January of this year, Putnam Fuel, a growing family owned Fuel Oil and Service company in Goffstown, NH, partnered with The Salvation Army, forming “The Safety, Service, and The Salvation Army Pay-It-Forward Campaign.” The focus of the campaign was two-fold: 1) to help keep families safe, and 2) to raise money for those in need.

Every year, Putnam Fuel signs up dozens of new heating and air conditioning service plans. The importance of these plans cannot be underestimated. According to John Miles, the President of Putnam Fuel, “Families in the Southern NH Fuel Delivery/Heating/Air Conditioning Service Area need a service plan because, if they don’t have one in place, they are risking the safety and health of their family and are likely paying too much for fuel due to efficiency problems.” Miles saw an opportunity to share the company’s message of health and safety by promoting Putnam’s service plans alongside a charitable endeavor: for every new service plan purchased between January 1st and March 31st, Putnam Fuel would pledge to donate a portion to The Salvation Army of Manchester, NH. “It’s a real win-win!” said Miles.

Nate Lindquist, the firm's CEO and a USA based life and business results coach noted, "Our mission is 100% about connecting with families in the most meaningful way we can. Then, the dividends help us grow so we can serve more families in the future."

Three months later, that promise to give back has been kept: by March 31st, Putnam Fuel had signed up enough service plans to allow for a $300 donation to The Salvation Army.

Reflecting on the success of the campaign, Miles remarked, “Our Salvation Army Pay-It-Forward campaign was a win-win for us this year. Our number one goal here is to make sure our clients are healthy and safe, and that their heating and cooling equipment is running as efficiently as possible. The best way we can provide this for our clients is with a service plan.”
