MCOM Selects LG’s STB-2000 for HOTstream Installations in North America
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) June 23, 2014 -- MCOM Media Communications has added LG Electronics’ new set-top box for hoteliers, the Pro:Centric Smart STB-2000, to its Interactive TV, IPTV and Video On Demand (VOD) installations in North America.
MCOM and LG have been closely cooperating for many years in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, having successfully installed HOTstream (http://www.hotstream.us) in thousands of hotel rooms on LG’s Pro:Centric Hotel TVs.
Now, LG and MCOM have extended their cooperation by adding LG’s STB-2000 to the HOTstream solution portfolio for North America. LG’s STB-2000 is the latest addition to the Pro:Centric platform and introduces advanced smart IPTV functionality to commercial televisions from LG and others. The STB-2000 supports the same HTML5 development environment and Application Program Interface as LG’s Pro:Centric IPTVs, so that the same third-party applications developed by LG’s System integrators partners can also operate on the set-top-box.
