Fort Wayne Deploys ATI Mass Notification System for Fast, Easy, and Secure Alerting
Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 23, 2014 -- Acoustic Technology Inc. (ATI Systems), the world leader in Mass Notification Systems, today announced that a new ATI Mass Notification System has been successfully installed at the Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base in Indiana.
Fort Wayne was looking for a better way to alert the military personnel, visitors, and contractors about an emergency on the base. To address that need, ATI deployed a multi-redundant communication system that will broadcast clear and audible tones and prerecorded messages.
Fort Wayne is home to the Blacksnakes, the 122nd Fighter Wing (FW) that flies the A-10 Thunderbolt II out of the base. Their primary federal mission is to achieve and maintain the level of operational readiness that will provide trained and equipped combat-ready tactical units, which are capable of global deployment and immediate integration into the active Air Force to assure air offense, air defense, or joint action with ground forces.
The Fort Wayne system includes two ATI High-Powered Speaker Stations (HPSS16s) – each with 1600 watts of power – for the outdoor acoustic coverage, and two Central Control Stations. The state-of-the-art system utilizes ATI’s latest advanced MassAlert® software, which gives the operator a new graphic interface and the ability to queue up activation in the system.
“Fort Wayne needed a solution that would ensure continuous communication for the Mass Notification System at all times,” says Tarek Bassiouni, lead Business Developer. “ATI provided an enhanced solution with two forms of communication: standard VHF/UHF radio and fiber-optic/IP. If one communication method is disrupted, the other is readily available to activate the Mass Notification System.”
For remote activation, ATI provided a telephone interface solution. An analog telephone line is connected to the Control Station, with an interface that allows for secure activation with password protection. Once the password is accepted, the operator has the ability to send a prerecorded message or a live PA announcement from the telephone to the Mass Notification System.
