“Dropping F-Bombs” Campaign Raises Eyebrows and Awareness

Dunn&Co.’s pro bono campaign for Crisis Center of Tampa Bay urges action against domestic minor sex trafficking

A new campaign aimed at urging action against domestic minor sex trafficking is garnering attention for its bold approach. “Dropping F-Bombs” was developed by Dunn&Co. as part of a shared effort by Crisis Center of Tampa Bay, Women in Action and Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking, with the goal to inform young people of the signs of domestic minor sex trafficking. The campaign offers teens a way to share friendship, namely by “dropping an f-bomb” by calling the confidential 211 hotline, so friends are less likely to fall victim to a sex trafficker’s charms.

“Our challenge in creating this campaign was to inform friends and family members of risk-taking teens about the warning signs of a relationship that could lead to domestic minor sex trafficking and urge them to utilize the anonymous 211 hotline,” said Glen Hosking, Dunn&Co. Creative Director. “In this case, ‘f’ stands for friendship, and dropping an f-bomb on its head is a great way to attract risk-taking teens.”

Dunn&Co. will follow up the website, http://www.droppingfbombs.com, with additional campaign tactics to engage its young audience, including social channels, guerilla marketing and promotional videos.

“I always tell young girls that we on the outside world see beautiful, strong and intelligent girls, and the pimps just see dollar signs. I know the message sounds too simple, but once they hear about the issue and then discuss this, the girls pretty much understand that these men and women are nothing but trouble,” said Giselle Rodriguez, Florida Coalition Against Human Trafficking.
