Galatea, based in San Dimas, California, is known for its carved pearls and carved pearl jewelry. Galatea's creative force and owner, Chi Huynh, has been carving pearls since 1994. His unique carving styles are multi-dimensional and not easily duplicated. Highly polished and finished using proprietary methods developed over many years of trial and error, each pearl is carved and finished by hand. The pearl is not treated in any way with enamels or any coloring agents.
A painter, poet and humanitarian, Huynh founded Galatea in 1994. He learned the jewelry trade by apprenticing for his father, one of Vietnam’s most respected jewelers. Today, Galatea manufactures both in the U.S. and Vietnam and sells to approximately 1500 retail jewelers throughout the United States. The company also has distribution in both Europe and Asia.
