Northville, MI (PRWEB) June 26, 2014
Allen Terrace, a senior living complex, is receiving a free overhaul to their computer lab thanks to the generosity of Dell Computers. The Allen Terrace Technology Center was established in 2000 by former Housing Commissioner, Sue Ellen Hopper. To date, the technology center has 5 workstations accessible 24 hours a day to residents.
Due to the rapid advancements in technology, the computer lab had already fallen behind in functionality. When David Marino, president of Northville-based Vision Computer Solutions (VCS), discovered Allen Terrace’s need for an upgrade he began reaching out to his business partners for a solution. Internationally known, Dell, graciously began assisting in the computer lab efforts. Senior Account Manager at Dell, Chris Moore, led the new hardware effort by discounting the equipment to VCS to cost.
Upon the completion of the Dell upgrade, Allen Terrace residents will have the added option of attending computer training classes. Complimentary classes will range in topics from using the newest versions of Microsoft programs like Word and Publisher to navigating and using a Facebook page. Various members of VCS will lead these monthly classes.
"We have several core values at VCS, two of those being 'pursue growth and learning' and 'embrace and drive change.' I'm happy that our organization is able to truly live our principles and give back to our community," said Marino.
The updated Allen Terrace Technology Center will be fully functional by the end of July 2014.
