Kevin Hudson brings 17 years experience in college access and completion to expand Story To College admissions coaching services to more students.

Story To College (storytocollege.com), a company committed to expanding college access by empowering all students to write authentic application essays, announced this week that Kevin C. Hudson has joined the company as Vice President of Admissions Coaching and Partnerships. Kevin will oversee the expansion of the company’s modular admissions coaching program. In addition, he will support the company’s partnerships with school districts and community based organizations to empower students by training teachers and counselors.

Carol Barash PhD, founder and CEO of Story To College, says of Hudson: "Kevin brings a wealth of experience--from his work in admissions at Princeton to college prep and readiness for students around the world--to help connect Story To College with students, families, and schools as we expand admissions coaching to support students for whom individualized coaching was not previously an option."

The Story To College modular admissions program is designed to democratize college admissions by making reliable, timely information available to all students; focusing on strategy, planning skill-building; and improving students’ writing skills.

Most recently, Hudson was a manager of College Readiness at District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS), where he led college access programming for the district’s 111 PK – 12 schools. Prior to joining DCPS, Hudson served as Director of College Admission & Advising at The Wight Foundation, a boarding school placement organization. He has worked as an Admissions Officer at Princeton University and a Career Counselor for undergraduates at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Hudson earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University and an MS Ed from the University of Pennsylvania.

“Since leaving Princeton, I have developed an even stronger passion for helping young people achieve their full potential,” said Hudson. “During that time I have worked with students attending schools as varied as urban public and public charter schools to private day and boarding schools in America, China and Canada. All those students have stories that are uniquely their own. Story to College brings a unique, student-centered approach to admissions coaching and industry leadership around the role of personal essays not only in college admissions, but in youth development. The Story To College Moments Method(R) provides an exciting path for students to unlock their potential and gain lifelong skills. I am inspired by the Story To College commitment to create educational equity by making admissions coaching available to all students.”
