Bright Horizons win prestigious Health and Safety awards
(PRWEB UK) 26 June 2014 -- Bright Horizons Family Solutions are delighted to announce that they have received a RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents) Gold Award for the third consecutive year.
The RoSPA Safety Awards are internationally recognised and have fast become the most sought after accolade by organisations from every sector. This key fixture in the health and safety calendar offers organisations a prime opportunity to prove their ongoing commitment to raising health and safety standards and to be a part of the longest running and most highly respected occupational safety awards programme.
Bright Horizons received their award at a ceremony at the ExCel London on Tuesday 17th June.
As a leading provider of high quality care and early education, the award reflects Bright Horizons’ commitment to the safety and wellbeing of the children in our care and of the staff who care for them. In addition to our rigorous safety policies, we have a bespoke internal programme for health and safety, “We Care”, which provides training and resources for our staff. We also believe that awareness and management of risk is a key life skill for children and as a natural extension, our staff work with children to help them learn how to keep safe at home too.
Carole Edmond, Managing Director at Bright Horizons Family Solutions, said “As an organisation, we are thrilled to be awarded a RoSPA Gold Award for Occupational Health & Safety for the third consecutive year. As Keeping Everyone Safe is our core value and key priority, this external validation is particularly encouraging and gives due recognition to our ongoing efforts to strengthen our culture of behavioural safety.”
At the ceremony, Lucy Gemmell, Operational Risk and Compliance Administrator for Bright Horizons, also received an individual Guardian Angel Award for her continued commitment to promoting a culture of behavioural safety. The Guardian Angel Awards recognise and celebrate the work of individuals who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to improve the safety of others and have shown commitment to safety and accident prevention through their personal initiative, diligence and enthusiasm.
Lucy Gemmell said “It’s so exciting – it was a big surprise and I feel honoured to receive this award. Keeping everyone safe has always been my passion and I decided to create a newsletter as a fun way to engage our staff, bring our policies and guidance to life and keep our teams up to date with the most accurate information, in a sector that is constantly evolving. Since its launch, the newsletter has become very popular and has grown to include family facts sheets and safety-themed activity cards, which bring together home and nursery life. Through my role, I feel very valued and know that I am making a difference.”
