“The volunteers who work for Guardian ad Litem provide a crucial voice for the children in their care — their tireless efforts fundamentally alter the future of thousands of children in our community. Kobie Marketing is proud to support and advocate for the Guardian ad Litem organization, and this benefit event will help Guardian ad Litem provide for the children’s needs in the classroom,” said Michael Hemsey, President, Kobie Marketing. “I am proud to see so many other organizations and change agents in the Tampa Bay area step up and contribute to make our event a huge success. Because of our collective efforts, hundreds of children are going to have the tools they need for the upcoming school year.”
“We are so excited Kobie Marketing is a community partner,” said Sue Neville, President of Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, Inc. “We love the initiative they have taken to bring together the business and residential communities of the Tampa Bay area, rallying support for and impacting the lives of many children in need who often do not have a voice of their own.” These children are members of our community who have been brought into challenging circumstances, circumstances they did not create, by the adults in the lives that should have been protecting them. A guardian volunteer works to ensure these children navigate the system with a voice in the court room and a hope for a better life.”
“People who put aside their personal lives to help kids at risk like me are beautiful people and greatly appreciated. As a kid who has been in the Program, I know that without my Guardian, I would be truly lost,” said A.Q., a former foster child. “Guardians are like a light in the darkness.”

About Guardian Ad Litem:
The Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay’s mission is to provide every abused and neglected child with a Guardian ad Litem volunteer advocate.
Guardian ad Litem volunteers are citizen volunteers who speak up for the best interest of abused and neglected children in the courtroom and in the community. Once a child is in the dependency system, a Guardian ad Litem is appointed by the court to advocate for that child. The Guardian then forges a personal relationship with the child; investigates the child’s medical, psychological, and educational situation; and makes recommendations to the court on behalf of the child’s manifest best interests. The Guardian ad Litem makes recommendations to the court about their findings with the goal of ensuring that child has a safe home.
Right now in Pinellas and Pasco Counties more than 2,300 children have been removed from their homes. More than 1,000 children need a volunteer Guardian ad Litem to be their voice. To learn more about volunteering to be a Guardian ad Litem, or how to make a donation to support the Foundation’s mission, please visit HeroToAChild.org.
