Karndean Designflooring break out with style
(PRWEB UK) 26 June 2014 -- The UK’s market leader in luxury vinyl flooring Karndean Designflooring has joined forces with OEG interiors to create a contemporary break out area on-site at its Evesham head office.
Inspired by Karndean’s strong brand, OEG interiors were tasked with designing an engaging space that would entice staff away from their desk at lunch time whilst, at the same time as doubling up as a meeting space.
Tapping into the modern industrial trend, Karndean opted for an exposed ceiling and feature lighting pendants with bespoke finishes.
OEG interiors specified Art Select Canberra Slate and Morning Oak Parquet to complement the large open-plan space, with clever zoning introduced to distinguish areas and guide visitors around seating areas.
Uniquely, the space features a one of a kind concrete ping pong table inspired by the well-known James Du Wulf ping pong and dining table, which has been designed to also operate as a conference table.
“We were able to incorporate Karndean’s statement brand red in the form of diamond shaped artwork panels and Ocee soft seating perfectly,” commented Lucy Martin, design manager at OEG interiors.
“The chic Mereway Kitchen was positioned at the front of the space, whereas the lounge needed to be furthest away from the interactive ping pong table. The paper lanterns featured throughout were designed to create a softer and more relaxed ambience.”
John Wright, operations director of Karndean Designflooring, said: “We were immediately impressed with the finished space. The concept was to deliver a break out area that would feel very different from our office environment, so we can encourage our employees to get away from their desk and have a well-deserved break, and OEG has met this requirement perfectly.”
