Peugeot to Showcase Cutting Edge Concepts at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014
(PRWEB UK) 26 June 2014 -- Peugeot will display its latest technical developments at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014. Visitors to the French manufacturer’s stand will be able to see a trio of innovative concept cars, including the recently debuted Peugeot Exalt Concept Car.
Fresh from its world premiere at the recent Beijing Motor Show, the Exalt Concept Car will be on display at the Peugeot stand for the duration of the festival (26th-29th June). It will be joined by the 208 HYbrid FE Concept, and the 308 R Concept, a sporty variation of the 2014 European Car of the Year, the New 308.
With its striking design and engineered from a radical selection of materials, the Exalt Concept Car is a sleek sedan that delivers an adaptive driving experience. It uses Peugeot’s HYbrid4 technology, with a 70bhp electric motor and 270bhp 1.6-litre petrol engine providing a powerful drive.
Drivers can choose from one of three driving modes – 100% electric, petrol only or a petrol-electric hybrid vehicle.
Its economic performance is enhanced by a selection of high performance materials. The car’s rear features ‘Shark Skin’, a man-made textile that mimics the effect of real shark’s skin to improve aerodynamic performance and reduce fuel consumption.
The Exalt Concept’s environmental credentials are showcased through the use of basalt fibres on its sills. A natural composite, basalt fibres reduce the use of petrochemical resources.
Also on display at the Peugeot Goodwood stand, the 308 R Concept gives the sleek body of the award-winning New 308 a sporty makeover.
The hot hatch’s design makes use of a clean cut line, which separates the eye-catching red paint work of its body from its grey rear bodywork. This powerful concept car is fitted with the RCZ R’s impressive 270bhp 1.6-litre engine to provide high-octane thrills.
Peugeot’s line-up is rounded off by the 208 HYbrid FE Concept – a car designed to showcase the best of both worlds.
It’s economical without compromising on fun. The car’s fuel efficient engine is capable of 112mpg on a combined drive cycle and emits just 46g/km of CO2. However, with its GTi-like performance, the 208 HYbrid FE Concept can go from nought to 62mph in just eight seconds.
