New York Public School First in U.S. to Feature App for People with Disabilities
Queens, NY (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- eSSENTIAL Accessibility is pleased to announce that PS 811Q is the first public school in the U.S. to offer the eSSENTIAL Accessibility app™ on its school website. People who cannot browse the school’s website using conventional methods, due to conditions such as arthritis, paralysis or cerebral palsy, can use the app to browse completely hands free using tools like motion technology and voice-activated navigation. Students, parents and faculty with disabilities will now be able to use the app to access vital information on the PS811Q website like schedules, event information, educational resources and much more.
The eSSENTIAL Accessibility assistive technology app provides keyboard and mouse replacement tools that help people with physical, reading and age-related disabilities browse the web. The app is free of charge to the end-user and can be downloaded by clicking the blue wheelchair and keyboard icon located on the PS 811Q website. The new PS 811Q website runs on the eChalk learning platform, but once downloaded, the app can be used on any website.
