Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 25, 2014
Sport Court® recently provided a unique synthetic street soccer court for the ‘Winner Stays’ fan gathering event in Chicago’s Grant Park held in conjunction with the U.S. Men’s National Team matches of the FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
The court has been set-up each day the Unites States team has played in pool play, beginning with their first match against Ghana on June 16th. For that match, and again on June 22nd when the U.S. played Portugal, over 20,000 gathered to watch the match on a large screen set up at the south end of Grant Park on the shores of Lake Michigan.
The all-black PowerGame® court features a dramatic logo for the ‘Winner Stays’ event, and as the name indicates, the competition has been fast-paced in an open tournament format that rewards quick scoring and allows the winner of each match to stay on the court to face a new challenger. Teams compete over the two weeks of pool play for bragging rights in their home city.
The final event will be held this Thursday, June 26th, when the U.S. team plays their final match in pool play against Germany to determine whether they advance to the knockout round of the FIFA World Cup.
