Greenberg Traurig’s Brian Koch Awarded Broward Bar Association’s Paul May Professionalism Award
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (PRWEB) June 25, 2014 -- Brian H. Koch, a shareholder with international law firm Greenberg Traurig, was awarded the Paul May Young Lawyers Section Professionalism Award at the Broward County Bar Association’s Annual Installation Dinner. The award is presented each year to an attorney in Broward County who demonstrates the highest degree of professionalism in the practice of law and enhances the image of the legal profession through their participation in the legal community.
Promoted in 2013 to Shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s high-profile Litigation Practice Group, Koch has represented regional, national and international plaintiffs and defendants in state and federal courts for more than 11 years. Koch’s practice areas include business, trademark and insurance litigation.
“We are very proud of Brian’s achievements as a lawyer and his positive impact as a leader within key community and legal organizations like the Broward Bar’s Young Lawyers Section,” said Glenn E. Goldstein, Managing Shareholder of Greenberg Traurig’s Fort Lauderdale office.
As a member of both the Broward Bar’s Professionalism Committee and the Inns of Court, Koch makes it his priority to make a positive difference by promoting the ongoing practice of law and speaking on panels that provide attorneys information about practicing with professionalism. Brian has also served on a number of boards and in various leadership positions for the Leadership Broward Foundation, the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Beth Torah Congregation and the University of Florida Hillel Foundation.
“It is a privilege to be recognized for my contributions to the community,’’ Koch said. “I also believe it is important to remember that we serve as role models to law students and younger attorneys and as ambassadors of the legal profession.”
As a shareholder in Greenberg Traurig’s Litigation Practice in Fort Lauderdale, Koch has a diverse commercial litigation practice where he routinely litigates partnership and shareholder disputes, insurance disputes, business torts and contract related issues. Representing both plaintiffs and defendants, Koch has broad experience handling all aspects of litigation including motion practice, trial and appeals.
The Young Lawyers Section (“YLS”) of the Broward County Bar Association contributes to the educational and professional advancement of attorneys, particularly those under age 36, while also contributing to the betterment of the Broward County community in general through charity functions and projects.
