Mashable Announces Dustin Drankoski as Its Photo Director
New York, NY (PRWEB) June 25, 2014 -- Mashable, the leading media company for the Connected Generation and the voice of digital culture, announced today that it has hired Dustin Drankoski as its Photo Director.
In this role, Drankoski will explore new image-driven means of distributing news and information for the Connected Generation, while also overseeing the editorial photo and art department. From breaking news to Mashable spotlights, he will manage visual content and presentation across Mashable and its multiple channels.
“Integrated multimedia storytelling is at the core of what we do at Mashable, and we know that photos and artwork are just as important as headlines and text,” said Jim Roberts, Chief Content Officer and Executive Editor of Mashable. “Dustin has been helping bring news stories to life with visuals for the past several years and with his help, we look forward to continuing to offer our audiences new, unexpected ways of engaging with the stories they care about.”
Drankoski joins Mashable from Vocativ, where as photo editor, he was responsible for working with editorial and development teams to create visual language for the organization’s stories covering everything from news to entertainment to sports.
Prior to Vocativ, he was media editor for Popdust, managing all media, including photo, video and design content, ranging from interviews to interactive features, for the website. He also served as online and news photo editor at The Wall Street Journal for three years covering breaking news and handling both online and print editing for domestic and international editions, as well as art assistant for WSJ.
