Tastemakers of Delray Beach 2014
(PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- Delray Beach magazine (JES Publishing), in partnership with the Delray Beach Downtown Development Authority (DDA), presents the Sixth Annual Tastemakers of Delray Beach. On August 7 and 8 from 5pm- 10pm, thirteen of the Downtown Delray Beach restaurants rollout the red carpet treatment for Tastemaker Passport Holders!
This unique event is truly a strolling international food event, featuring 13 of Delray’s premier restaurants within the downtown area. Each participating restaurant has designed a special culinary delight that is reflective of their chef’s specialty and paired it with a special beverage selection. The Passport holder will stroll from restaurant to restaurant partaking in the savory delights that these locations have provided. The program is designed to be held on two evenings in order to allow people time to experience all 13 restaurants and not to feel pressured to complete in one night. It is a “must –-experience” this summer!
An incentive to purchase the passport in July is that each of the restaurants also has provided a promotional offer that is valid with the passport from July 1 – September 30, 2014. “Tastemakers is an event that we look forward to every year not only because it is a fun opportunity to experience the downtown restaurants that we may not have been too before, but the excellent promotions that each has to offer is an added value,” shares Mike Cruz, Delray Beach resident.
Tastemakers of Delray Beach, has grown in popularity and each year there are many questions on how the event works. To participate, guests need to purchase a “Passport” for only $30 cash, which is a booklet that include a list and map of the participating restaurants, their tasty item paired with a sip of fabulous wine or signature drink. Passports are on sale beginning July 1, 2014 at each restaurant. List of Participating Restaurants: 50 Ocean, Cabana El Rey, Caffe Luna Rosa, Deck 84, DIG, El Camino, FYI Yogurt, Lemongrass Asian Bistro, Mussel Beach, The Office, Solita Delray, Vic & Angelo’s, and Ziree. The Passport quantity is limited and the event traditionally does sell out – so it is encouraged to purchase the Passports right away.
“This is a fabulous opportunity for all to experience a collection of delicious tastes of food and beverage while discovering many of the unique shops and galleries throughout as you stroll along the brick paved sidewalks of the Downtown area from the beach to West Atlantic Avenue,” states Laura Simon, Associate Director, DDA. Tastemakers of Delray Beach was designed six years ago as an economic development program to drive business and awareness to the Downtown businesses and it has been a huge success each year.
On Thursday, August 7 or Friday, August 8th, guests are encouraged to begin in one location of Downtown Delray Beach and stroll from one stop to the next. To assist in getting from one side of town to another, Passport holders can catch a ride from the DDA’s Legacy Partner, Delray Motors who is providing a free Car Service – “The Tastemaker Mobiles” each evening or on the Downtown Trolley.
