Robbed Business Owner Fights Back With Security Cameras
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) June 27, 2014 -- A local business in Shepherdsville, KY was robbed twice over the last few months. The first time, the owner, Mike Obsourn, stated that, "They kind of came in and wiped me clean; we had to start all over. We had an awesome winter with all the snow and we had to start all over," reported WLKY.com.
After the initial robbery, Obsourn beefed up security by installing surveillance cameras and a new alarm system. When the second robbery occurred, playback from the video footage showed the thief using a rock to break in the door and his unsuccessful attempt to open the safe.
Playback from security cameras not only assist police with identifying the intruder, but allows them to trace his steps for forensic evidence. Security camera footage can also be used to convict the criminal in a court of law and for insurance purposes.
Installing a do-it-yourself surveillance system in a home or business is a cost effective method of securing your property. The required equipment for a analog or wired installation includes:
• Digital Video Recorder: A DVR receives the signal from a video camera and records the footage.
• Security Cameras: A security camera captures the video and transmits it to a DVR. There are many types of security cameras with varying features, including cameras that can pan, tilt and zoom in on a subject, see images in low light or total darkness and cameras with high resolution. Determine the placement of the cameras, then choose the camera most appropriate for that location.
• Other required equipment includes a power supply, cabling, and connectors.
