McDivitt Team Members Support the American Heart Association
Colorado Springs, CO (PRWEB) June 27, 2014 -- Since 2011, McDivitt Law Firm has partnered with the American Heart Association (AHA) in the fight against heart and stroke disease. This year, McDivitt’s team, Heart to Heart, spearheaded a four-month-long effort to fundraise for this important cause, and ultimately raised more than $13,000.
McDivitt’s kick-off began with a firm-wide breakfast in March. Since that first early morning event, team members from the firm participated in bake sales, potlucks, BINGO, pie-in-the face, a silent auction, Friday night fun at the Coffee Exchange, and special musical performances by David McDivitt, to name a few. Every team member got involved in some way, local businesses offered support for some of the efforts, and family and friends of the team members often pitched in to help.
On Saturday, June 14th, McDivitt team members and their families headed to the AHA Heart & Stroke Walk on the UCCS Campus. The McDivitt Heart-to-Heart shirts took 1st place in the AHA’s t-shirt design competition, and the group celebrated its efforts while raising awareness for the cause that has affected so many people in the community.
"I'm so impressed with the level of team work and commitment everyone showed during the run-up to the Heart Walk,” Karen McDivitt said. “Mike and I are constantly inspired to work with such dedicated and generous people. We extend a huge thank you to our Heart Walk leadership committee and all of our team members and their families for everything they’ve done to save lives by making this our best fundraising effort ever."
The money raised by the team goes towards research, education, and life-saving procedures in Colorado, provided by the AHA.
