Prestigious Newport News Shipbuilding Implements Customized ATI Mass Notification System
Boston, MA (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- Acoustic Technology Inc. (ATI Systems), the world leader in Mass Notification Systems, today announced that a state-of-the-art Mass Notification System has been successfully deployed at Newport News Shipbuilding in Virginia.
Newport News Shipbuilding is the sole designer, builder, and refueler of U.S. Navy aircraft carriers and is one of only two providers of U.S. Navy submarines. With 23,000 employees, they are the largest industrial employer in Virginia and the largest shipbuilding company in the United States.
“Newport News Shipbuilding needed a fast, reliable, and easy-to-use system to alert its personnel, contractors, and visitors indoors and outdoors about an emergency,” says Dr. Ray Bassiouni, CEO of ATI. “We supplied a proven solution, which consists of three Control Stations, 20 Giant Voice Towers (HPSS) that provide superior voice intelligibility, and six wireless interfaces, to their existing fire alarm and voice evacuation plans.”
The ATI system uses the latest advanced MassAlert™ software to provide clear, audible tones and voice announcements to the indoor and outdoor areas. This enhanced equipment has a universal analog radio interface, which allows the system to use any radio infrastructure. ATI configured the system for use with Fort Wayne’s existing Kenwood Trunk radio system and Kenwood mobile radio to enable communication between the systems’ components.
