The Use of Smaller Implants Shows Success for Dr. Jeremy Ueno
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2014 -- Dr. Jeremy K. Ueno, of Ueno Periodontics, is now, in certain cases, using implants that are smaller than traditional implants. These implants are shorter and narrower and offer many benefits.
If a patient wants to avoid a sinus bone graft or has a nerve that may be in the way, and traditional implant placement is not warranted, Dr. Ueno now uses implants that are shorter and can avoid vital structures (Astra EV 4 x 6 mm implant).
For really narrow spaces with minimal bone, he is now using narrower-in-diameter implants to fit spaces like lower front teeth and the upper lateral incisors. These implants are only 3 mm in diameter and are as strong as traditional implants and have outstanding esthetics and success. These are the Astra EV 3 mm diameter implants.
The majority of implants that Dr. Ueno places are still the traditional diameter implants with longer lengths when possible. These newer implants have given him an extra tool to use in cases that were traditionally much harder or impossible to treat with implants in the past. These newer implants also show excellent success rates.
Dr. Ueno’s patients are very happy that he can avoid major bone grafting and sometimes orthodontics and now place smaller and narrower implants into spaces that implants could not be placed in the past. This is leading to less invasive surgery and happier patients.
