Fort Worth, Texas (PRWEB) June 27, 2014
John Goff, Chairman & CEO of Crescent Real Estate Holdings LLC, was named EY Entrepreneur of the Year for the Southwest Region in the real estate and construction category. EY Entrepreneur of the Year recognizes individuals who are building and leading successful, growing and dynamic businesses.
Goff’s timely purchases and sales of Class A office properties in Texas, Nevada and Colorado, as well as the development of an employee team focused on superior customer service, were cited as the basis for the success of both Goff and Crescent Real Estate. As a ten-time recipient of the coveted National Commercial Real Estate Customer Service Award for Excellence, Crescent Real Estate has won each year it competed under Goff’s leadership. The company collectively has owned a total of 40 million square feet of office space and numerous hotels, resorts and residential developments.
Goff took the company public in 1994 and sold at the peak of the commercial real estate market in 2007. He reacquired the company with Barclays Capital in 2009 when the commercial real estate market softened and then divested properties within the portfolio at significant gains in a strong 2013 market. Currently, Goff and Crescent Real Estate are taking advantage of strong commercial office markets to develop select office and retail properties in Dallas and Houston.
The Dallas property, McKinney & Olive, held a ground breaking ceremony June 19 in Uptown Dallas. The 20-story structure, designed by internationally acclaimed Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, offers world-class architecture, ultra-efficient floor plates, the latest building technology, state-of-the-art security, destination elevators, fitness center, conference center, a rooftop garden, and unrivaled visibility in the vibrant pedestrian-oriented Uptown Dallas neighborhood. Beck Group is the general contractor for McKinney & Olive.
The Houston office tower, 6 Houston Center, is an elegant and contemporary 30-story, 600,000-square-foot space set to break ground later this summer. Designed by HKS Architects, 6 Houston Center represents the new evolution in commercial office space that will meet the needs of Houston’s rapidly growing business sector. Features and amenities such as 10-foot and 12-foot ceiling heights, rooftop garden, fitness center, and concierge floor appeal to a discerning workforce. Balfour Beatty Construction has been named general contractor for 6 Houston Center.
“I am very excited about our future,” Goff said. “We will have a stunning office building in the best market in Dallas – Uptown, and we will provide a distinctive, highly-desired property in Houston Center.”
Goff quickly deflects recognition for the success of Crescent Real Estate. “It’s an honor to represent Crescent as the EY Entrepreneur of the Year as we celebrate Crescent’s 20th anniversary. We received this recognition because of all of our employees, partners, customers and vendors, both past and present, who have helped make Crescent what it is today.”
