Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival Scheduled for August 7-9, 2014 in Henderson, Kentucky
Henderson, KY (PRWEB) June 28, 2014 -- The 29th annual Bluegrass in the Park Folklife Festival is set for August 7-9, 2014, in Henderson, Kentucky. The festival boasts two action-packed days of bluegrass music, sporting events, and folklife activities, all in an incredible riverfront setting, and an opening ticketed performance at the Henderson Fine Arts Center.
The event was recently named a “Top 10 Summer Event” by the Kentucky Tourism Industry Association and a “Top 20 Event in the Southeast” by the Southeast Tourism Society.
This year’s line-up boasts both traditional and progressive bluegrass acts.

Henderson Fine Arts Center
An opening, ticketed performance by Mandolin Orange is scheduled at the Henderson Fine Arts Center on Thursday August 7, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. The duo will perform their signature mix of bluegrass, folk and country. Tickets available for $19 or $25.

Audubon Mill Park
On Friday, starting at 5pm in Audubon Mill Park, catch performances by Honeywagon, Whiskey Bent Valley Boys and Old Salt Union.
On Saturday, the morning kicks off with Breakfast in the Park at 7:00 a.m. with music and special events taking place all day. Bands on the roster include Feller & Hill and the Bluegrass Buckaroos, The Barefoot Movement, Dry Branch Fire Squad, Trinity River Band, Circa Blue, King’s Highway, The Shade Tree Players and Keith Vincent.
Cost of all events at Audubon Mill Park are free thanks to sponsors, advertisers and volunteers.
Other special events held throughout the weekend include the Jammin’ & Jumpin’ outdoor street pole vault competition, Fox on the Run 5K, Pickin’ & Pedalin’ Bicycle Tour, Flippin’ & Flyin’ disc golf tournament, childrens’ inflatables and a variety of folklife activities.
