Lajollacooks4u Gained Michelin-Starred Training from Chez Charles in Corisca
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) July 02, 2014 -- A bon voyage, indeed: Chef Jodi Abel of Lajollacooks4u has arrived back from her epicurean European expedition to Corisca to learn from world renowned Chef Julien Diaz of the Michelin-starred restaurant, Chez Charles.
Chef Jodi, having conceived of Lajollacooks4u from her experience cooking and dining through Europe, is dedicated to furthering her culinary knowledge abroad. While on a vacation to France and the French island of Corsica, Chef Jodi scheduled a private cooking class with Chef Julien Diaz, who is highly regarded for his chef position in Chez Charles, a world renowned restaurant with one Michelin star.
Chef Diaz provided an outstanding private, hands-on cooking class for Chef Jodi, which took place in the Chez Charles kitchen. Working one-on-one with Chef Diaz, the two prepared a delicious Stuffed Sea Bass, expertly deboned and stuffed with julienne carrots, shallots, zucchini and leeks. Chef Diaz also introduced Chef Jodi to an authentic Corsican dessert dish, the Canistrelli cookie. The two built the special biscuit treat with cream, berries and a magnificent sugar disk.
Between preparing each gourmet dish, the two chefs bonded over their culinary experiences and dish preferences. Chef Diaz, an expert in Mediterranean cuisine, shares Chef Jodi’s philosophy for creating dishes without cream bases. The two also bonded over a mutual interest in presentation, creating dishes that look as spectacular as they taste.
Regarding her experience cooking in Corsica’s finest Michelin one-star restaurant, Chef Jodi enthused, “Chef Julien Diaz is an incredible person and clearly possesses a true passion for cooking and food. He runs an extremely organized kitchen that maintains a warm and harmonious ambience. Cooking with Chef Julien was the highlight of my trip.”
