Ontario, Calif. (PRWEB) June 27, 2014
The Ontario Convention Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Dean as Director of Operations.
Dean has nearly 20 years of experience in facilities and operations management, with professional certifications not only in the technical but also the safety code and labor requirements necessary for the job. He will begin his new position with the Ontario Convention Center July 1, coming from the South Towne Exposition Center in Draper, Utah, which, like the Ontario Convention Center, is managed by SMG, the world leader in venue management, marketing and development.
“Robert has a stellar track record of managing all aspects of building operations, from employees to safety standards and equipment,” said Michael Krouse, President and CEO of the Ontario Convention Center and the Greater Ontario Convention & Visitors Bureau. “Coming from our sister property, we are very familiar with his abilities to perform beyond expectations, and look forward to seeing the results of his talent and expertise here in Ontario.”
Dean was operations manager and chief engineer of the South Towne Exposition Center, where he managed both full-time and part-time staffing pools, created and managed capital budget plans, developed maintenance schedules for equipment and software programs, and set up compliance standards to meet OSHA requirements. Prior to that, he was facilities engineer at the San Jose Sharks Organization, as well as E-Center of West Valley City. He attended Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, California, and has many hours of certification in HVAC, OSHA, aerial rigging, network cabling, CPR and more.
