(PRWEB UK) 29 June 2014 -- Eager fundraisers are set to descend on Godalming next month for the 2014 Catteshall Stroll, a charity event supported by leading online literature retailer the Book People.
The Catteshall Stroll was first launched in 2010 to raise funds for Shooting Star Chase, a specialist children's hospice caring for infants, children and young people with a range of serious health problems. The hospice needs £9.5 million a year to continue providing care and receives only 10 per cent of its funding from government, leaving it largely reliant on private donations.
So far, the event has raised more than £280,000 for the hospice and the Book People are confident that this year's Catteshall Stroll - which is due to take place on Saturday July 5th - will be the biggest and best yet.
"We've been amazed and delighted with the response to the event over the last few years, and we're hoping for another Catteshall Stroll to remember this year," said Ryan Barham, editor at the Book People. "There'll be all sorts going on and it's all for a great cause, so we're looking forward to this year's event."
Participants in the 2014 Catteshall Stroll can choose to take part in either an 11-mile walk or a four-mile family stroll. Anyone who wishes to take part can register by simply filling in the form on the Catteshall Stroll website, with entry fees set at £25 per adult and £10 per child. Children aged under three can enter for free.
In addition to the main events, there's fun and games for both children and adults - including great raffle prizes - with lots of delicious food and drink also on offer. There'll even be an icing masterclass from Great British Bake Off champion Frances Quinn.
All of the money raised for this year's Catteshall Stroll will be donated to Shooting Star Chase.
