Family Investment Center of St. Joseph, Mo., is voicing a simple philosophy – mainly that investment management and planning for retirement doesn’t have to be stuffy or uptight -- with a recently launched new website and other rebranding tools.

A commission-free investment management firm founded in the 1980s, Family Investment Center continues to grow its client services and base with its unique approach to investing. The new website, featuring the updated tagline “Money is freedom. Freedom is fun” expresses this concept with bright colors, fresh images and a more conversational verbage – yet without taking away from the seriousness of placing trust in a professional advisor to reach future goals.

“We do things differently at Family Investment Center, operating without high-pressure sales but instead in a commission-free setting,” says Dan Danford, founder and chief executive officer. “The foundational tools, techniques, and strategies we use for investing were devised directly from large national endowment and pension portfolios. We use proven strategies and quality investments to get clients where they want to go – always acting with total transparency and no hidden fees.”

Information on the site is centered around client needs– such as retirement planning, investment management, Social Security maximization, and life changes. A detailed description of the type of investor who may be the ideal fit for Family Investment is also included, along with valuable insights and information on the blog page “Money is Freedom, Freedom is fun.” Quotes provided by advisors and staff help share the team’s experience and passion for helping each client reach success in a personal, client-focused environment.

Danford explains that the new online approach is also in line with enhanced social media and outreach efforts, and all connected to a new logo and tagline the organization developed earlier this year. The team’s unique combination of experience across academic, finance, business and working with the emotions surrounding money has prompted Danford and his team to be quoted in major media sources such as the Wall Street Journal, Chicago Tribune and U.S. News & World Report. These articles and several more are featured on an updated Media Mentions area.

“Our team is working hard as investment managers specializing in large portfolios and we continue to keep your needs and goals at the center of our focus. We wanted a new website that would reflect that,” says Danford. “The new site also helps convey the message that we’re registered, approved, and secured like any other major financial institution – but our outstanding experience across investment management includes both the academic and emotional sides of money.”
