City Of Newburgh, NY Moves One Step Closer To Economic Transformation

Mount Saint Mary College has taken the lead role in providing their campus and resources as the hub for START-UP Newburgh.
A major feature of the START-UP NY program for initial and early stage startup companies or established out of state relocating companies is operating free of NYS taxes for a period of up to 10 years. The goal is to merge entrepreneurs with a competitive academic institution, to build businesses and create jobs in the City of Newburgh.
Mount Saint Mary College in conjunction with HVCFI – Hudson Valley Center for Innovation, an established and certified incubator is in the early stages of formulating a detailed plan for the types of new companies they feel would best match the academic offerings of the college. Some of the academic areas that will be focused on include: Education, Nursing, Life Sciences and Communications which are all recent growth sectors in the US economy. Companies that could match include: Healthcare products, Education and Training software products, Medical Device, Biotech, Environmental and Green Tech, and Social Science products. Interested entities are encouraged to inquire about the program to determine their eligibility.
