Dr. Tim Houchin, M.D. Discusses Kentucky's Alarming ADHD Rate with Renee Shaw on Kentucky Educational Television
Lexington, Kentucky (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Dr. Timothy M. Houchin, M.D., founder and president of 360 Mental Health Services was the featured guest on this week's episode of Kentucky Educational Television's Connections. Connections' host and co-producer Renee Shaw interviewed Dr. Tim for the duration of the half-hour program, focusing on the possible over-diagnosis of ADHD in some states as well as other mental health topics of interest.
Dr. Tim expressed his opinion that, contrary to what many professionals believe, ADHD is not an easy diagnose to make. "Doctors in this field should not function as an island," said Dr. Tim on the program. "[Rather], it should be a collaborative approach." Dr. Tim emphasized the importance of working as a team, stating he frequently collaborates with Ph.D. psychologists as well as Master's level mental health clinicians in order to formulate the proper diagnosis and treatment plan.
The Connections' episode featuring Dr. Tim will air once more on KET and is also available for viewing online.
