Heart Gallery of Broward Celebrates the End of a Successful School Year for Their Children With “Day at the Museum”
Fort Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- In their continued efforts to provide “right of passage” experiences for the foster children in their care, the Heart Gallery of Broward County held a celebration for them having a successful school year at MOD’s in Fort Lauderdale.
“We feel it is very important for these children to have the same experiences as children with parents,” commented Yvette DuBose, Executive Director for the Heart Gallery of Broward. “So, with our volunteers and board members, we were parents for a day and congratulated them for a job well done!” she added.
The event was held from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and was attended by 50 children. Who enjoyed all of the wonderful exhibits and interactions the Museum provides. They also enjoyed chocolate milk and cupcakes as treats provided by corporate sponsors Nesquik and Creative Kids Care. And, thanks to the wonderful board of directors, especially, Dr. Ron Habas, the entire event was underwritten.
Outside of celebrating the children’s achievements, the event also allowed for them to be photographed and videoed to update the gallery, which plays a significant role in the organization’s goal to have these children adopted.
“When we began the day with welcoming everyone and we spoke to the children about the videographer wanting to catch them in action, one child, Devin, responded he was ready to speak on camera because he was ready to be found and adopted.” Jason Kates of Fruio, the videographer commented. “He was phenomenal and I told him that he was a rock star and brave to volunteer to speak on camera.” He added.

About The Heart Gallery of Broward County
The Heart Gallery’s mission is to provide innovative programs that help to promote the adoption and enrichment of Broward’s foster children. It is one of over 100 independent heart galleries across the country. We work closely with ChildNet and the local foster care providers to seek adoptive families and other connections for these children. The first exhibit was introduced in April of 2007.
The Heart Gallery of Broward County is a traveling photography exhibit of foster children who are waiting to be permanently adopted. The Gallery is unique: in concept- it is displayed in many public places just like an art exhibit- and in execution- every photograph is a vibrant composition taken by a professional photographer. Coupled with a bio card that describes each child’s personality and interests.
