Sanmar, a leading tug boat manufacturer, announced its release of a newly constructed RAscal Class vessel dubbed the RAscal 1500. Robert Allan Ltd. led the design of the tug boat that now is sailing in Norway. Sanmar Marine’s modern and new custom built shipyard constructed the RAscal 1500 and put it through various performance trials that have exceeded standards and expectations.
The Norwegian owner of the new RAscal 1500, Buksér og Berging AS, named the vessel Barge and is one of many new tug boats Sanmar will construct. The hull has been crafted to warrant good sea-keeping, maneuverability and steadiness in all water conditions. Sanmar will make different variations of the RAscal class vessel to fit the needs of other worldwide customers.
The RAscal 1500 has the following dimensions:
The boat also features hydraulic DMT winch and a Data tow hook for versatile applications. It also provides power from two main engines of 350kW Caterpillar C18 and auxiliary electricity from a pair of C4.4 generators, outputting 86kW each.
The electronics aboard the compact boat include a suite of Furuno manufactured items including multi-functional display, GPS navigator, radar, echo sounder, AIS, satellite compass and weather station. Below the deck, luxurious elements similar to those found in yachts encompass two twin berth cabins, a pantry, a communal head and a restroom.
