North York Dental Offers Patient Education Videos for All of Their Dental Services
Toronto, ON (PRWEB) July 02, 2014 -- While some are afraid of the pain that is often (incorrectly) associated with all visits to the dentist, others are anxious because they don’t understand the procedures that well. To help put his patients more at ease and educate them about what will happen during their procedures, Dr. Eli Shem-Tov has had videos created that walk patients through every step of every service offered.
Patients can watch all of these videos online from their home in either high or low resolution. Each of these videos walks the patient through every step of the procedure with on-screen text and voice over. Patients can pause, rewind, or skip ahead as needed. Each video can be watched in two different ways: either as a movie that plays completely from start to finish or in a step-by-step manual mode that users click through in a manner similar to a slide show.
The first set of videos focuses on cosmetic dentistry. This includes veneer color correction, laser whitening, closing up odd gaps between teeth, dealing with cracked teeth, and even information on how home whitening trays work. Another set of videos focuses on cusp fractures. This includes outlining how procedures such as fillings and crowns work. Videos on direct and indirect root canals, crown lengthening, and on the installation of a 3/4 crown are also included. Because of the idea that a root canal is very painful is so common, Dr. Shem-Tov recommends patients pay special attention to the two videos explaining the procedure.
Another group of videos focuses on tooth decay and the procedures that can be done to prevent or deal with it. Some of these videos can be found in other sections, such as the information on root canals and crowns. Patients can also watch videos detailing how an inlay and an onlay work, how fillings are done, and how teeth are extracted. There’s also a video outlining how teeth decay.
For those with missing teeth, there are videos outlining the procedures for both a single missing tooth and multiple missing teeth. These videos cover everything from dentures to implants to bridges. They also discuss the option of simply doing nothing and the dangers that can come from this. A set of videos about periodontal disease will help patients understand exactly what this is and how it can be combated.
Finally, two sets of videos focus on wisdom teeth and preventative maintenance. The wisdom teeth videos explain the differences between impacted and partially erupted wisdom teeth, while the preventative videos cover brushing, flossing, sealants, and making regular visits to a dentist.
