New Lakeview Health Community Integration Program Connects Those in Recovery With Jacksonville Causes

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Jacksonville addiction treatment center Lakeview Health has announced a new Community Integration Program to help both patients and local organizations achieve their goals. This new initiative consists of weekly outings to engage Lakeview clients in volunteer efforts, including building homes for the disadvantaged, working on farms and supporting other healthy living causes. Clients of Lakeview Health will make a positive impact in the Jacksonville community while they apply techniques and skills learned at the center to empower them and reclaim their lives in more meaningful ways.

“We recognize our clients need opportunities to apply healthy living skills and sober fun into their recovery,” stated Lakeview Health Clinical Director Mandy Jack. “The introduction of our Community Integration Program allows patients to explore ways to problem solve, address conflict and give back in order to be better prepared for a new life before they discharge.”

While Lakeview Health serves a national population, this program marks the latest of several significant initiatives designed to support Jacksonville, including the groundbreaking earlier this month for a 145-seat conference center that will be available for community use.

“There is nothing more powerful than someone in recovery,” added Lauren Stobbie, exercise physiologist and community integration coordinator. “Once the barriers have been pulled back, individuals have a renewed sense of promise and purpose. Imagine the impact that will be made when we are able to focus that constructive attitude.”
