RubberForm Recycled Products LLC Provides Safety Tour of Plant to Lockport Fire Department
Lockport, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- Last month, as part of an ongoing program by the Lockport, NY Fire Department, each firefighter toured RubberForm Recycled Products plant in an effort to become more acquainted with the facility in case there was ever a fire there.
The Lockport Fire Department tries to visit the larger local businesses at least every other year. These tours familiarize every firefighter with the building and helps them become acquainted with the high-hazard areas. This aids the pre-planning process so in the event of a fire the team is prepared.
“If you’re responding to a call at 3 o’clock in the morning, something might jog your memory of the tour,” said Battalion Chief Luca Quagliano, municipal training officer (MTO) for the Lockport Fire Department. “If you can remember one little thing, it can make a big difference.”
RubberForm takes its responsibility for worker and plant safety very seriously and was therefore happy to host a tour of its manufacturing plant. The firefighters were enthusiastically welcomed during their visits, which took place over a four-day period in May.
“We take our responsibility to be good corporate citizens very seriously. Whether that’s producing an environmentally-friendly recycled product for our customers’ safety or operating a manufacturing plant in a manner that keeps our employees safe,” said Bill Robbins, president and founder of RubberForm. The company produces an array of safety products from parking lot and road safety, to in-plant safety, to vehicle safety and marine safety application.
Quagliano commended RubberForm for having a safety officer on staff who has taken a proactive attitude toward ensuring safety measures are in place. “RubberForm’s commitment to safety is excellent,” said Quagliano. “Compared to some of the business we’ve been through here, their facility is fantastic.”
Quagliano added, “We do fire inspections too, and RubberForm is a company we never have a problem with. Bill Robbins and his team does a very good job at housekeeping. It’s easy to see he recognizes the importance of workplace safety.”
RubberForm’s manufacturing plant is located in Lockport, NY, a city of about 20,000 people, located about 20 miles northeast of Buffalo. For more information, visit their website at http://www.rubberform.com/.
