Michael Lercel, SEMATECH Senior Director and Chief Technologist, will present the opening/closing remarks and serve as the session panel moderator.

Presenters from the newly merged SUNY College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering (CNSE)/SUNY Institute of Technology (SUNYIT) and SEMATECH will detail four newly formed technology development centers focused on chemical mechanical polishing/planarization (CMP), resist, 3D (computer chip packaging), and III-V compounds. The centers, based at the Albany Nanotech Complex, are the first in an effort to expand technical capabilities and competencies that will enable companies to assess their materials, test new tooling and validate designs through access to the newly merged CNSE/SUNYIT’s advanced fabrication facilities.

SEMICON West is the annual tradeshow for the microelectronics manufacturing industries where leaders within those industries present research and other sector-shaping progress reports to attendees from around the world. In addition to showcasing hundreds of product displays, the event also features applications ranging from micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) to nanoelectronics.

For over 25 years, SEMATECH®, the international consortium of leading semiconductor device, equipment, and materials manufacturers, has set global direction, enabled flexible collaboration, and bridged strategic R&D to manufacturing. Information about SEMATECH can be found at Twitter:
