New Issue of Healthy Children e-Magazine Helps Parents Better Understand Teens
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) July 02, 2014 -- HealthyChildren.org, the official American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Web site for parents, has released a new issue of Healthy Children, a free, digital-only magazine for smartphones and tablets. Available in English and Spanish, the new issue focuses on adolescent health and includes information for parents about what to expect as their child embarks on the path toward adulthood.
"We hope that this issue of Healthy Children will help parents understand the many changes of childhood and provide a safe and healthy environment which adolescents need to thrive," said Jennifer Shu, MD, FAAP, medical editor of HealthyChildren.org.
The e-magazine’s feature article, “Puberty: Transition from Childhood to Adulthood,” guides parents through the physical, emotional, and social changes their son or daughter will experience. Other articles focus on the importance of teen checkups, how to help keep teenaged drivers safe on the road, signs of drug abuse or eating disorders, how to talk to your teenager about sex, and guidelines for specific vaccines for teens and preteens.
Apple users may download the free e-magazine now on the iOS Newsstand. Android users may access the e-magazine through the HealthyChildren mobile app after July 8, 2014 on Google Play.
The digital magazine is also available as a PDF at HealthyChildren.org/e-magazine.
This issue of Healthy Children e-magazine was supported by an independent grant from Merck.
