Carbon Monoxide Detection and Home Automation Technology for Sale by ICAP Patent Brokerage & Auctions
NEW YORK, NY (PRWEB) June 30, 2014 -- ICAP Patent Brokerage announces for sale a carbon monoxide detection technology from Clear The Air Now, LLC that senses the presence of unsafe levels of carbon monoxide and triggers a series of transmittable, wireless actions including but not limited to remotely turning off a vehicle, shutting down a generator, opening a garage door or vent, notifying home owners via call/text/email, dispatching authorities and communication functionality via smartphone, household Wi-Fi networks and/or smart-home automation and security services.
“This portfolio is of value to companies involved in home automation, home safety equipment, home security and the emerging smart-home industry. This technology has the potential to dramatically reduce the rising number of injuries and deaths that occur each year as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning and provides home owners with a digital solution for immediate point of source detection and action,” says Dean Becker, CEO of ICAP Patent Brokerage.
Key Characteristics & Benefits
It has been estimated that Carbon Monoxide (CO) is responsible for half of poisonings worldwide. In the U.S., over 40,000 people seek medical attention from CO poisoning annually. This portfolio discloses a system to enhance home or workplace safety by detecting and handling toxic levels of carbon monoxide. When the system’s sensors detect an unsafe buildup of carbon monoxide, the system launches a series of actions to actively address the source of the carbon monoxide while simultaneously alerting first responders, security service providers, and the customer.
The system wirelessly shuts down the automobile, generator, heater, furnace, or other source of carbon monoxide (at the owner’s discretion). It can automatically open a garage door or vent system within the home to discharge/diffuse the CO gas. The system alerts first responders either directly or through the security system provider, stating the nature of the event, location, and home owner/customer name. The system then dials the customer via wireless or Bluetooth link to alert him/her of the danger, or alternatively, flashes a warning notice across the home owner’s television or computer (radio alerts are also available). The system also initiates an externally mounted warning light and/or alarm to alert neighbors and incoming first responders of the event, indicating the need for immediate action.
